When We Are Closed
Emergencies during surgery hours telephone 8772 2621. Between 8.30 and 6.00 pm, urgent requests will be given prompt attention by the receptionist and the doctor will be informed. It will be necessary for the receptionist to ask some details regarding the condition of the patient so that the doctor can assess the urgency of the call.
When the surgery is closed – telephone 8772 2621 and a recorded message will tell you how to contact the Out of Hours Service. The Out of Hours Service is based at South Tyrone Hospital. If you require emergency treatment out of hours you will be asked to attend the Centre at South Tyrone Hospital, if at all possible.
Please remember that this service covers a wide area and many practices and should be reserved for genuine emergencies only.
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
